Constitutional Law- Right to counsel attaches after initiation of adversarial judicial proceedings 

Generally, the Sixth Amendment right to counsel does not attach to grand jury proceedings. The purpose of grand jury proceedings is to determine whether criminal proceedings should be initiated against an individual via indictment — there has not yet been a formal charge, preliminary hearing, indictment, information, or arraignment — no adversarial judicial proceedings have yet been initiated.
