Employment Law- Wage assignment enforceable if dues not tied to union membership

A wage assignment for the payment of union dues is irrevocable for the term of the applicable contract if it clearly, explicitly, and unmistakably sets forth the obligation to pay union dues for a specified period, regardless of charging party’s membership status; thereby, constituting a binding waiver of the charging party’s right to discontinue his or her financial support of the union at will.
